Hard water causes scaling on the heating elements of water heaters and heating pipes. This speeds up the consumption of household appliances such as washing machine or dishwasher and leads to an increase in electricity consumption of these devices. Hard water decrease the formation of foam from soap and other detergents, reducing their effectiveness, increasing their consumption and your expenses. Fabrics washed in hard water become stiff, rough and lose their colours.
This system has been designed to fit on water mains pipe – it comes with 1” NPT threads on either side.

The Big Blue filter housings are blue in colour, which protect the filter elements against the growth of algae if the system is installed in a sunny place.

Cartridges included:
Stage 1:
Sediment Filter Cartridge.
They are mainly used at the initial filtration stage, polypropylene foam filter cartridge removes sand, rust, silt and other sediments up to 5 Micron.
They are resistant to chemicals and purify water for drinking and general purposes.
Stage 2:
A softening cartridge – filtrating medium in form of fine ion exchange resin.
This unit is designated to reduce limescale from your water, improve its taste and reduce odour.
The softening effect takes place within the filter without adding any salt or chemicals into the water. The filter removes harmful substances and reduce limescale, prolonging life-span of your home appliances such as washing machine or dishwasher and saving you money.
Stage 3:
Activated Carbon Block Cartridge.
The cartridges are made of pressed activated carbon. In comparison to other carbon filters, the sintered block has a significantly higher effectiveness (up to 25%). They filter mechanical pollution bigger than 3 µm and purify surface water perfectly.
This cartridge removes chlorine, dissolved organics, and heavy metals and improves the taste and odour of filtered water.
BB20″ housings are sealed with a double O-ring
